Board Games - Family board games increases the bonding and gets lots of laughter as you compete either individually such as Monopoly or as teams such as Taboo. Board games are a time tested way of having fun at home especially when it rains outside. They are also a very cheap and effective way to have fun with the whole family. Bust out an old game or go out and get a new one as most of them are less than $25. Breath new life into older games in the closet by creating your own set of customized rules such as "no limit on hotels" built on properties in Monopoly or longer times for Pictionary.

Video Games - In the computer age, getting a fun engaging game console can be awesome for laughter, brain excercise, and physical exercise. We recommend an active game such as any of the Nintendo Wii games that requires you to swing your controller such as when you are playing their tennis game or a music game such as Guitar Hero that lets you play the guitar or drums as you go along. Alternatively you can rent the games at a number of online game stores or at your local video store. Buying the gear such as a guitar or drums can definitely get up there in price however.

Bowling - Want something more active indoors? Then bowling is your answer for a great family night out on the lanes. Get together with another family such as your sister's or brother's and have team captains pick teams or play family vs. family. There will be lots of laughter and memories while having satisfying the competitive spirit in you and your family.

Indoor Roller Skating or Ice Skating - Do something different and take mom to an indoor skating excursion. Many cities have an indoor skating ring and some of you may learn a new skill. You have tons of fun and laughter when one or all of you inevitably falls. Bring a camera along to take pictures and short video clips and you will have your own comedy to enjoy with the family for years to come.
